The main motivation for doing this episode is really to help people who are perhaps new to performance marketing, but don’t yet understand the technical elements of performance tracking. 

The good news is that getting started with GTM is not as scary as it might seem, and once you’ve got a few basic things under your belt, the world starts to open up for your tracking implementations. 

The other benefit is being able to get into the weeds of your tracking. If you’re accountable for performance, it’s super important to know how the numbers you are reporting on are produced and to see precisely how they fire.

Even if all you need to do is sense check your tracking, a basic understanding of GTM will pay dividends.
