Hi all and welcome to episode 106 of the Marketing Freaks podcast!

In this week’s episode, Jon is joined by Overdrive’s Senior Paid Media Account Manager Abi Carey to discuss the valuable lessons we’ve learnt so far since setting up our very own e-commerce business, The City Scooter and how they can be implemented to propel our clients business endeavours to new heights.

One of the best ways we can understand the pressures and stresses our clients go through day to day as a digital marketing agency is by putting ourselves in their shoes. So, why did we decide to go to the extreme and set up an e-commerce business as a team? It’s simple.

In order to acknowledge those trials and tribulations that e-commerce businesses experience daily, there is no better way to learn than by being able to fully immerse yourself into it. Not only did learning on the job offer practical application of knowledge, but it also allowed our whole team to tap into new skills, contextual understanding and adaptability.

As a business within the digital marketing industry, we already understood the importance of data and the benefits of analysing it effectively in order to improve performance, because as we all know, it’s the lifeblood of any successful e-commerce venture.

But by being able to look at data as a team with more knowledge across a wider scope allowed us to gain a deeper understanding to what we can do in order to make adjustments to the strategy whether that was ad creative or placements on landing pages to identify untapped opportunities, and stay one step ahead in the competitive e-commerce landscape.

So, if you’re interested to hear more about what we learnt whilst setting up our very own e-commerce business, take a listen to this week’s episode!

Enjoy!
