Author Jon Quinton 2 min read time

Hello and welcome to the first podcast episode of 2021!

And what a guest to kick start the year. With a television career including seven years on Soccer AM, Robbie Knox has gone on to start his own production company and a successful YouTube channel with (as of today) 95k subscribers.

In this episode I sit down to talk through everything YouTube and how brands could be approaching video to get more from the format.

I’ve been watching Robbie’s videos for around a year now, so was great to delve into what goes into running the channel, his approach to making videos and how the success and growth in subscribers has come around.

We also touched on how brands can approach video better, and that it’s rarely the salesy content that works but content that educates or entertains that tends to do so much better.

When working with less glamorous industries there is often the challenge of trying to find something interesting to talk about, but Robbie made the excellent point that if he can generate 40k views on a video about taking the bins out, most businesses should be able to find something interesting to say about themselves.

If you haven’t come across Robbie’s content before then I highly recommend checking it out – it’s extremely entertaining stuff.

Big thanks to Robbie for taking the time to join the podcast and please do subscribe for future episodes 🙏

What this episode covers:

  • Robbie’s background in video production
  • How his YouTube channel has grown
  • How brands can make more of video
  • Advice for anyone looking to grow their audience on YouTube

Enjoy!
