Even though the idea was to sit down and chat about what we’re seeing working right now, we also wanted to take a little bit of a break from talking about Covid and lockdown.

We’re written about ‘performance in lockdown’ a lot, there’s also a ton of other content around it so we really felt like giving it a bit of a breather. See how we get on talking about performance right now, whilst actively avoiding talking about ‘the thing’. That’s harder than you’d imagine given how much impact it’s had!

The big point that came out of the conversation is that 2020 is anything but normal, so in some cases the usual seasonal trends have gone out of the window. Trying to assess whether you’re on trend has become extremely difficult in a year when the normal trends just don’t really exist.
